Food security
(By invitation only)
Food security was defined at the World Food Summit in 1996 as “when all people at all times have access to sufficient, safe, nutritious food to maintain a healthy and active life.” Food must be both accessible and affordable and meet dietary needs and preferences.

To increase food security in Virginia, we seek proposals to:
- Support food banks in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Educate on the importance of locally sourced food
- Increase locally sourced foods and services in the food supply chain
Geographic Scope: Virginia
This program no longer accepts unsolicited requests. If invited to apply, we will send an invitation during one of the open periods outlined in the Grant Guidelines.
